It has been found that water not only flowed on Mars but boiled. This discovery also solves one of the biggest mysteries on the surface of the red planet. The atmospheric pressure on Mars is very low compared to that of Earth, causing water boils at a much lower than it does on Earth temperature. The researchers built a hyperbaric conditions and atmosphere of Mars to conduct studies.

In this study, the researchers built a hyperbaric conditions and atmosphere of Mars. Then ice was introduced. The ice melted and the water flowed in that environment, but also saw an unexpected surprise. The surface of the water as it flowed seething and boiling that was strong enough to move not only water but also dirt and debris surrounding streams.

The tests were done at a temperature of 293 degrees Kelvin, about 20 degrees Celsius, in a large vacuum chamber at the Open University, UK.

The scientists found that under the conditions of the Martian surface water boils and causes the release of grains of sand that formed batteries until they finish collapsing.

Importantly, that the temperature was not the important factor boil the water, but the pressure of the atmosphere. As pointed Susan Conway, co-author of the work:

The atmospheric pressure on Mars is very low compared to that of Earth, which means that water boils at a much lower than it does on Earth temperature.

The findings show that in Martian conditions, liquid water evaporates after seep into the ground due to the enormous instability. According to this thesis, the mysterious patches of Mars could be boiling water: the boiling is who cracks form observed by space probes on Mars.
