It was present the results of an experiment on the influence of different irrigation regimes on the yield of the banana fruit, Musa AAAA, clone Tetraploid 64-2596, in a Red Ferrallitic Compacted soil in the Experimental Station of Irrigation and Drainage, at Alquízar, province of Havana, inside the period between April 1982 and July 1984. The treatments consisted of irrigate by furrow the first 30 and 45 cm deep soil where the moisture fell to 85 and 75% of field capacity, the treatments have been distributed in a randomized block design.
The best results were obtained when soil moisture was maintained throughout the crop cycle by over 85% of field capacity, regardless of the depth of wetting, with yields of 38 t / ha for the fomentation and 41 t / ha to produce phase. This clone was tolerance to drought compared with other clones studied, for to obtain in the non-irrigated treatment, taken as control, yields of 27 and 31 t / ha for the fomentation and production respectively.
