It was studied the basic parameters of the irrigation regime of cassava clone Miss, in a red Ferralitic soil, at the Experimental Station of Irrigation and Drainage in the province of Havana. It was found that:The real evapotranspiration ranged from 696 to 840 mm for the different treatments under study in a crop cycle of 270 days, with maximum water requirements ranging from 3.70 and 4.70 mm / day. The phases of increased water consumption were: root development, tuber leaves and accumulation of reserves, which represent between 71 and 76% of total consumption.
It is recommend to irrigate with a soil moisture of 80% of field capacity during the first 30 days of wetting at a depth of 0.20 m, then it must irrigate with a depth of 0.40 m to 30 days before harvest field with a capacity of not less than 70%. The total crop water requirements was of 2972 m3 / ha, obtaining a yield of 41 t / ha.
