Influences of the irrigation management on the coffee yield

The work tries about investigation the irrigation management in the coffee (Arabic Coffea Lin) Var. Red Caturra 12 years old in the Pinar del Río province, planted on a soil Ferralítico Yellowish Leached Cuarcítico. The plantation distance is 2 x 1m for a density of 5000 plants / ha under controlled shadow of pinion ( Gliricidia sepium ) typical of the zone. Six treatments were studied with an experimental design of randomized blocks, the irrigation moment and the application volume was controlled by the gravimetric method. Irrigation employee’s technique was the micro aspersion under the principle of total covering.
As the four year-old average it was obtained that the best treatment was the one of irrigation the whole year to 85 % Superior limit of available water where it was necessary to apply 21 irrigations with net partial norm of 355 m3/ha and net total norm of 7455 m3/ha, this variant it produced 17.94 t/ha of brown cherry for an increment of 3.98 ton/ha (29 %) with regard to the no irrigated land.
