During the period from 1991 to 1997, in Havana conditions was conduced a study on the planning of crops, agricultural strategy, the use of existing resources, organic agriculture, family in the work and support of people per unit area in terms of performance, using ferrallitic red and sandy loam transported soil.

We found that when a rational exploitation of the crops and resources, can hold 90 people / hectare / year from the production of viands and vegetables, with a supplement in the diet of grains and fruits. Yields are influenced by the structure of sowing used, the varieties, the various agricultural factors, conditions of soil and climate, with annual average values for study crops of: 8 to 16 tons per hectare in not irrigated areas, 17 to 25 tonnes per hectare when using deficit irrigation and over 25 tonnes / hectare in irrigated areas.
