During the period 1986-1989 in the Multicrop Enterprise Jose Avila Serrano, Holguin Province, was realized a comparative economic study of two techniques of surface irrigation in banana crop, CEMSA ¾ variety. It was irrigated with double furrows and border and both results where compared with a control area which was irrigated as the Enterprise have realized traditionally. The greater efficiency and irrigator productivity were obtained in the area which was irrigated with double furrows, with 63 % and 2, 8 Ha/man/turn, respectively. The greater values of net benefit and profitability were found in the area which was irrigated with double furrow with 329, 55 pesos/ha and 9, 3 % respectively.
