Martinez R. and Ortega E. Behaviour of real evapotranspiration in the banana fruit clones King Similar, Musa AAA and Tetraploid 64-2596, Musa AAAA.
Irrigation and Drainage Series, Vol. 10 No. 2: 51-60, 1987, Cuba
Was studied at the Experimental Station of Irrigation and Drainage, of Alquízar in Havana province, the behaviour of clones Similar to the King, Musa AAA of little height, and Tetraploid 64-2596,Musa AAAA, big height planted in a Red Ferrallitic Compacted soil at the same time of sowing, with a population density of 2025 plants / ha.
It was found that clone Similar to the King was characterized by a high water demand with an average value of evapotranspiration of 3.63 mm / day for the fomentation phase and 3.76 mm / day for the production phase, the Tetraploid 64-2596 was more tolerant to drought with an average evapotranspiration 2.92 mm / day for the fomentation phase and 3.42 mm / day for the production phase.
